 IMPERIA has been confirmed to play at the Tuska Open Air 2007. IMPERIA will play on Friday the 29th of June. Tuska Open Air is the biggest festival of Scandinavia in it's kind and it will take place in the inner city of Helsinki, Finland. Other bands which are confirmed so far are for example Emperor, Immortal, Children Of Bodom, W.A.S.P, Pain, Katatonia and others.

 The cover artwork for the second IMPERIA album - titled "Queen Of Light" - is ready! The album will be released in two versions: as a regular CD in a jewel-case and as a limited edition digipak. The digipak version will feature a "making of Queen Of Light" video-documentary as a bonus. The album consists of not less than 13 songs with a total playing time close to an hour! The album release date is set to 23rd or March and it will be released through MASSACRE RECORDS.

 As you have noticed IMPERIA has been working behind the scenes very hard on the upcoming album. Currently the artwork is being made.
But not only that has kept IMPERIA on a lower profile: we can now happily announce the birth of Angel Michaelsen on the September the 11th! She was already attending the studiosessions and taking part on the recording process!

IMPERIA is now ready with the new album recordings and the album is currently being mixed. The title of the new IMPERIA CD will be "The Queen Of Light" and it contains 12 songs. IMPERIA is happy to announce the new co-operation with the Black Lotus Records! Please read the following statement:
Helena Michaelsen’s main band IMPERIA inked a recording deal with Black Lotus Records! Helena already made a serious impact with ANGEL (the same band member’s with IMPERIA, namely : Helena Iren Michaelsen - vocals and choirs, Steve Wolz - drums, John Stam - guitars, Gerry Verstreken - bass, Jan "Örkki" Yrlund - guitars, Audun Gronnestad -orchestrations) last June with her first “solo” – so to speak – album “A Woman’s Diary Pt I”. A record that introduced her ethereal vocals and the band’s unlimited song-writing talent to a wider audience in both the metal and non-metal music world.
IMPERIA are ready to take on the next big step. Following their debut “The Ancient Dance Of Qetesh” (2004) they are currently in the studio finishing off the recordings of their second offering currently entitled “Queen Of Light” (working title – will probably change in the future). IMPERIA have recorded 12 songs with a total length of over an hour. The style follows their debut but is heavier and more varied. There are fast and powerful metal songs, slow ballads, heavy songs as well as a lot of serious guitar leads and oriental keyboards. It is a diverse album with crystal clear sound!  Happy new year to everyone and here some updates: IMPERIA has started the recordings of the new album at the Space-Lab Studio in Germany with the producers Christian "Moschus" Moos and Oliver Philipps (o.a. Everon, Angel...). There are going to be some 12 songs on the new - yet untitled - IMPERIA album. You can click the picture on the right to see Steve building up his drumkit. More news of the recording progress will follow!

Some very positive news today: Helena is healing faster and better than expected from her injury of the last month. This means that ANGEL will perform the shows that already were confirmed and that the both bands are up and running again!

Some unfortunate news today. Due to an accident couple of days ago Helena has been injured. Not only does she have a light concussion, but more serious is the fact that she has damaged her ear and had to see a specialist for it. Now it seems that she has to undergo an operation. Needless to say that to avoid further damage to her hearing no loud noises and such are allowed - this is strongly prohibited. This of course also includes all live performances, rehearsals and such.
This is why IMPERIA has to cancel all the shows for the coming weeks / months untill she is completely recovered. We all wish her a fast recovery and good luck in the process. If you wanna share your thoughts with her, please contact info@helena-michaelsen.com.
This means that IMPERIA won't be playing tomorrow in Raismesfest 2005. Also the joined gig next week Friday in Tivoli in Utrecht together with our friends Sylver Myst has been cancelled. We hope that our fans still go there to support Sylver Myst with their CD-release party. And of course ANGEL won't be playing there either.
But no bad news if not any good news. We wanted to share this with you later, but now might be a good time: the songwriting process for the new IMPERIA album is in full speed! The guys have a lot of songs ready and there is more to come. The album will be recorded in December 2005 and it will be out in early 2006. The guys of IMPERIA will now dedicate this coming time to fully concentrate on the new album.

 IMPERIA played last weekend a show in Delft, at Westerpop. The festival gathered this year it's biggest amount of visitors together - some 15 000.
